How It Works

This calculator uses three widely accepted medical formulas β€” Devine (1974), Robinson (1983), and Miller (1983) β€” to estimate ideal body weight for a given height and gender.

All three were originally developed in clinical settings. For Asian populations (India, China, Japan, Southeast Asia), the calculator uses the Asian BMI standard where overweight begins at BMI 23 rather than WHO's 25.

The BMI-based range gives the healthiest weight range where BMI falls between 18.5 and the upper limit of the "normal" category for your regional standard.
